You should always have more chefs than waiters (that is a comen error).
EG:

If you have 1 waiter, and 2 chef, put your tables like this.











If you have 2 waiters, and 3 chefs, put your tables like this.











If you have 2 waiters, and 4 chefs, put your tables like this.












If you have 2 waiters, and 5 chefs, put your tables like this.












And if you have lost of hired people, try and make lots of small table groups (like this).












You can NEVER put tables beside the wall, otherwise the people will not be able to sit down.
